About

I come from a small village in Kerala, India, and did part of my early schooling in Muscat, Oman. I studied Physics for my Bachelor's, then Applied Electronics for my Master's, where I discovered signal processing — which led me into machine learning. I completed my Ph.D. in Machine Learning in 2014 under Prof. Ninan Sajeeth Philip.

I spent eight years in academia and research, including positions at Caltech, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, and the Square Kilometre Array, working on applying deep learning to astrophysics.

 

After a stint in industry at Persistent Systems, I moved into leading AI teams full-time. I'm currently Head of AI at DeepAlert Ltd., where I lead a team of ML engineers and data scientists building computer vision and agentic AI systems for video security.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, trying new cuisines, and spending time with family.
